FAQs
Make Ahead and Storage:
What is Taco Chili?
Taco Chili is a hearty soup filled with beef and beans, just like regular chili recipes, but it also has green chiles, taco sauce, and taco seasoning for a little kick
Can I make Taco Chili in Advance?
Yes. Taco Chili only gets better the next day. Feel free to make this a day in advance, store right in the pot with a lid, and heat over the stove until warmed through before serving
Storing: Store soup covered and in the refrigerator for 3-4 days
Reheating: Reheat chili on the stovetop in a pot with the lid on. Use medium heat to warm the chili up. Stir occasionally so the bottom does not burn. Heat until warmed through
What Kind of Toppings Should I use for Taco Chili?
- sliced green onions
- tortilla strips – find these near salad toppings in the produce section of your grocery store
- corn chips
- sour cream
- shredded cheese – cheddar or Mexican blend
- diced tomatoes
- sliced black olives
- jalapeno slices
- green chiles
Tips and Tricks:
- I like to use ground sirloin beef because it has a very low-fat content and is really flavorful. I never have to drain the beef from ground sirloin
- If you can’t find ground sirloin, then find something with a low-fat content
- you can double this recipe for a bigger pot of taco chili

My top Amazon Picks for this Recipe

Ingredients:
- ground beef – buy lean ground beef with very little fat. My favorite is sirloin beef
- sweet onion – like a Vidalia onion
- canned diced tomatoes
- canned crushed tomatoes
- black beans – these will need to be rinsed
- sweet corn – drained
- taco sauce
- green chiles – I like to use mild green chiles, but if you really like a kick to your chili, then you can definitely substitute a hotter version
- taco seasoning -I wouldn’t get reduced sodium taco seasoning. Original taco seasoning is best in this recipe
