Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 large saucepan
  • mixing and spreading utensils

Ingredients
  

  • 8 Tbsp. butter unsalted
  • 1 cup flour all-purpose
  • 1&3/4 cup sugar divided (granulated)
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup milk 2% or whole
  • 3 cups fruit mixed berries - frozen
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Melt the butter completely
  • Pour it into the baking dish
  • Mix the flour, 1 cup of the sugar, salt, and baking powder
  • Pour milk into the dry ingredients and mix well
  • Pour batter over butter - making sure that it is spread across the whole pan. You do not have to cover every square inch, but most of it
  • In a large saucepan, heat frozen berries, 3/4 cups of sugar, and cornstarch until the melted liquid thickens a little bit into a syrup-like mixture
  • Pour fruit mixture over the batter covering most of the batter
  • Bake for 45 minutes
