In a medium saucepan, add the sugar and water - mix well
boil and continue to mix until sugar is dissolved and mixture thickens - for about 5 minutes
place a lid onto the syrup mixture and place it into the refrigerator (with a towel or protective mat) under it to cool off
In a large pitcher (which will hold approximately 4 liters) add syrup, juices, and ginger ale
mix well
serve over ice

Tips and Tricks:
if you don't like the tartness of grapefruit juice, then try to substitute it with pineapple, or omit it and add more orange juice
if you don't have lime juice then change out lime juice for lemon juice
