What is a Triple Decker Sandwich?
A triple-decker sandwich is a sandwich with 3 pieces of bread that typically has layers of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and spread
Why is it Called a Club Sandwich?
I’ve heard of a couple of different apparent origins of the club sandwich. One is that it was served in clubs or a clubhouse like a country club. The other origin is that CLUB is an acronym that stands for chicken and lettuce under bacon.
Is the Club Sandwich the Same as a BLT?
They are very similar sandwiches. Both are served on toasted bread. The BLT however, only has bacon, lettuce, and tomato with a mayonnaise spread. The Club sandwich also has cheese, and typically turkey is thrown into the mix as well as another layer of bread.
What Should I Serve with a Club Sandwich?
- potato chips
- dill pickle slices
- German Potato Salad
- fruit salad
- Cowboy Baked Beans
- coleslaw
- Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Tips and Tricks:
- I like to use precooked bacon and just warm it up in the skillet. This really cuts down on the time it takes to prepare this sandwich
