A classic vegetable side dish that is perfect for any potluck


Ingredients

Dressing:

  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of oil – vegetable or canola
  • 1 tsp. of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. of salt
  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar

Other

  • 1 (15 oz.) can of cut green beans – drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can of yellow wax beans – drained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can of kidney beans – drained and rinsed (either light or dark works fine)
  • 1 green bell pepper – chopped
  • 1 onion chopped or sliced – (a sweet Vidalia onion tastes great)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl whisk the ingredients for the salad dressing
  • fold in the beans and vegetables – coat well
  • cover and refrigerate for 3 hours to overnight
  • serve cold
