Tater Tot Casserole {So Good!}

Description

Delicious and flavorful casserole filled with beef, cheese, and tater tots. A great family meal.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (2 lb.) bag of tater tots
  • 1 lb. of sirloin ground beef
  • 1 can of cream of celery
  • 1/3 cup of milk – 2% or whole milk
  • 2 cups of frozen broccoli pieces
  • 1 (8 oz.) bag of shredded cheddar cheese – divided
  • 1 (6 oz.) container of Fried Onions – divided

Instructions

  • Brown and drain beef
  • Add the cream of celery, milk, broccoli, 1/2 of the cheddar cheese, and 1/2 of the fried onions to the beef
  • Mix
  • Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish (9×13 works great)
  • Top with the rest of the fried onions and cheese
  • Line tater tots on top of the mixture
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes

Notes

Can I Substitute the Broccoli for Another Vegetable?

Yes! Some vegetables that would be great in this tater tot casserole would be green beans, corn, zucchini, bell pepper, or asparagus

How long will Tater Tot and Beef Casserole leftovers last in the fridge?

  • leftovers covered and stored in the refrigerator should last 3-4 days

Can you freeze this Casserole?

  • Yes. Do not bake the casserole. Follow the recipe, but avoid baking it. Wrap with plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for up to a month. You could also prepare this in an aluminum baking dish for freezing. For reheating, either thaw overnight in the refrigerator or allow the dish to thaw in the oven as the oven preheats.
